SSM518 Site Review: My First Time on a Construction Site

SSM518 was my first construction site. Modular housing project in Yuen Long.
As an AE, I was nervous. But I learned fast.
RIF Forms
My main job was Request for Inspection forms. Over 50 forms, covering every inspection type: excavation, rebar, soil test, MiC installation.
Each form had to be precise. One wrong number could mean rejection.
Learning on the Job
Colleagues taught me the principles behind each inspection. Not just filling forms, but understanding why.
The Code of Practice, Buildings Ordinance, ITAP - all became familiar.
Site Coordination
Later I took on coordination: tracking progress, arranging workers, materials, scheduling. Coordinating with government and client for inspections.
The project completed on schedule. Messy at first, but got better with practice.
